Rafting, Split, Train

So i think the photos below give a good indication of our week in Croatia. The only addition not included was our final day of travel. Oscar and I decided to make the most of the optional extra to go white water rafting just outside of Makaska. An early start after a big night and some very hot whether made us second guess our decision but as soon as we were on the river in the cool fresh water we were cheering.
It was a 12km paddle down the Cetina River ending near Omis. The rapids were only level 2 and 3 but fun all the same with us all getting wet at some point. We also got to jump of a 5m jump rock into mountain stream water which is only 8 degrees!!! very cold, but again very worthwhile.
After Rafting we bused it back to the boat for lunch and a nap while we sailed back to Split. We had a quiet night in split with farewell drinks in a local square. Up and off the boat by 8.30 the next morning was another challenge. We had to kill 10 hours in stinking heat in Split that day. We spent most of the time in the shade of the local fruit and veg markets or browsing the nice air-conditioned shops in the old town. Left Split at 18.43 on a 16 hour train journey to Budapest.
The train was significantly less than comfortable with no air-conditioning, horrible toilets and a cabin that should not legally be allowed to take 4 people. But, we made it and are now living very comfortably in a nice hostel right in the centre of Budapest. Our first task on arrival was to cancel our plans to take a train to Amsterdam in 3 days time and instead cough up the extra cash to take a flight.
We are quickly learning from our mistakes :)
