Certaldo
Certaldo is a beautiful little town an hour outside Florence towards Siena. The hostel was almost empty. We borrowed bikes from the owner (Dougal, Aussie bloke living the dream in Tuscanny) and bought grocerys at the local supermarket for our two days there. That night we crashed at 9pm and after 12 hours sleep we were ready to soak up the sun and the countryside.
Walked the hilltops around the hostel and met many locals and their dogs. Coffee in a small cafe and a quick look at the local castle. Did a reccy of the laundrymatt and returned home for another picnic lunch. After a couple of hours reading books and drinking wine in the hammocks we again borrowed the bikes and braved the local traffic to do our washing. That night Oscar cooked a yummy Mexican chilli with rice (craving other cultural food, getting very sick of pasta and pizza) and we were early to bed again.
